Meet the All-Female Team Behind Liberare

We've been undergoing some big transitions here at Liberare as we get ready to launch our very FIRST original line and so the team has been working nonstop! We've had such an awesome time through this busy period getting to know each other better and becoming more of a cohesive family. At Liberare, our ultimate goal is to form an awesome community of women that empower and uplift each other, and all of us on the team want to be a part of the community. So today we're going to have a unique blog post where we have each of the team member answer some questions about their time and Liberare and what makes this company so special to work at. If you ever want to talk to any of the team members about their experiences make sure to sign up for our community- you can find any of us on there!

Alyssa

First we're going to meet Alyssa! She handles everything creative-related for Liberare and is always coming up with new and fun graphics or content for us. She has an amazing creative eye and will always give you advice for any graphic design you're creating (even if it's 2 AM). Alyssa also has a great assistant, her adorable dog (Wish) who likes to make an appearance in our team meetings and help us with our brainstorming sessions.

When did you start working at Liberare?

I started working for Liberare in July 2020. Quite honestly, it was a huge bright spot in the height of the pandemic for me.

What made you want to join the Liberare team?

There were several reasons why I joined Liberare. First and foremost, I really believed in their mission and the message of inclusion they were spreading through fashion and body confidence. For a brand that serves the disability community so well, I wanted to help serve them in return. As a disabled woman myself, I also know the struggle of finding clothes that are equally functional and fashionable. Getting to work in this fashion environment was another enticing factor for me! Plus, it has allowed me to take my creativity to new levels.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part about working for Liberare is the community. I have learned so much from so many of those living with disabilities and have even formed new bonds with them. My life feels so much more enriched.

What is your favorite Liberare memory?

Seeing our new lines of lingerie and pajamas for the first time has got to be up there with my favorite Liberare memories. I can’t wait until we can share them with the world!

What is a fun fact about you?

I built Liberare ’s current website! I’m a huge graphic design nerd and am a big fan of pretty color combinations, digital illustration, and helping people and businesses create an aesthetic that represents them well.

How do you hope Liberare makes our readers feel?

I hope that when someone stumbles across Liberare, they feel confident and welcome. We’re in the business of starting an inclusion revolution, one where people can feel confident in themselves, beautiful in the clothes they wear, and as though they have a seat at the table. This is the foundation of what we do, and I hope others can feel it, too.

What are you most excited about this next chapter that we're going into?

I’m really looking forward to our upcoming product launches! It’ll be so exciting to see Liberare serve our community in new ways, and I’m excited to do it all with the best team a company could ask for. Seeing everyone’s behind-the-scenes work come to life is going to be really amazing.

Anastasia

The next up is me! My name is Anastasia, and I was actually the first hire at Liberare when I joined the team in March of 2020. It's been a wild ride since I joined right before the pandemic hit, but I've loved every second. When I first started at Intimately I thought this would be a quick 2 month summer internship, but it's turned into so much more than that. From the blog to the Instagram to helping with designs, every task I do makes me so happy!

When did you start working at Liberare?

I started at Liberare in February of 2020! (Yes, I was hired less than a month before the pandemic hit... it's been a wild ride).

What made you want to join the Liberare team?

I'm currently studying fashion design at my college and I specialize in adaptive design. Growing up with a disabled mom, my dream has always been to design adaptive clothing for disabled women and now I get to live it before I've even graduated!

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part is definitely getting to work on designs with our lead designer, Maddie. It's so much fun to think up our new products and work through it, especially with Maddie, she's always the sweetest and so fun to work with!

What is your favorite Liberare memory?

My favorite Liberare memory is definitely having one of our first pilot program meetings. It was so cool to get to speak to women who are actually part of our community and hearing how Intimately impacts their lives.

What is a fun fact about you?

One fun fact about me is that I design for an annual fashion show on my college campus and get to be part of a big professional runway show every year! It's definitely been my favorite part of my time as a student.

How do you hope Liberare makes our readers feel?

I hope Liberare makes our readers feel like they belong, because that's just something that everyone deserves.

What are you most excited about this next chapter that we're going into?

I'm most excited about getting to work more with my team members. If it wasn't clear by this post, I love my coworkers and every second I get to spend with them is just the best.

Emma

Emma is our newest to the team but we already feel like we couldn't do it without her! She is also currently a college student and has so many things going on in her life, but still manages to find the time to work on all things beautiful for Liberare! She's quite the artist and can make gorgeous graphics in addition to being an awesome writer and doing anything needed for that week.

When did you start working at Liberare?

I started at Liberare in June of 2021!

What made you want to join the Liberare team?

I wanted to work for Liberare because as a wheelchair user, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find clothes that are both accessible and stylish. I’m able to be the change I want to see in the fashion industry, that’s such a good feeling.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part is using my artistic skills to create graphics for social media and for the community.

What is your favorite Liberare memory?

My favorite Liberare memory is when I was able to try on a few of the pieces from our upcoming Aurore line. It was really cool to see the end product of what we’ve been working on for so long!

What is a fun fact about you?

Fun fact about me is that I’m a graphic designer and have a small business called Salt and Light Designs. You can find me on Instagram at @saltandlight.designs !

How do you hope Liberare makes our readers feel?

I want our readers to feel welcomed and accepted at Liberare! I hope our products are not just functional but make each woman feel beautiful and empowered.

What are you most excited about this next chapter that we're going into?

I’m most excited about the upcoming launch for Aurore! I’m so ready for our customers to have our pieces in their hands!

Lea

Next up is Lea! Lea does a little bit of everything- but mostly handles our outreach and press. Lea is the reason why Liberare has made it into some publications we've always dreamed of having a spot in! Being a team member at Intimately, balancing other jobs, and simultaneously a full time college student has her busy all the time, so she's always juggling a billion things! We absolutely love having Lea on the team.

When did you start working at Liberare?

I joined Liberare in July 2020.

What made you want to join the Liberare team?

I was originally drawn to Liberare because of it’s amazing mission and all-female

leadership. I also really love the empowering messages on Instagram that feature real women and go beyond just product promotion.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of my job is interacting with the Liberare community. Whether

through zoom coffee chats or our recent pilot program meetings, talking with the

community we are trying to serve and hearing their feedback is amazing!

What is your favorite Liberare memory?

My favorite Liberare memory is interviewing women for our Community Chats series.

I collaborated with a team member to feature our community members through more in-depth interviews, and was really able to connect with them on a deeper level.

What is a fun fact about you?

A fun fact about me is that this summer I ate Michelle and Barack Obama’s dinner leftovers! I worked at a restaurant they went to and was able to take some food home.

This is now my biggest claim to fame.

How do you hope Liberare makes our readers feel?

I want Liberare readers to feel sexy and seen. So often disabled women are either

infantilized or hypersexualized, so offering a space where they can connect and feel

empowered is my hope for Liberare’s messages and products.

What are you most excited about this next chapter that we're going into?

In this next chapter, I’m beyond excited to be a part of the launch of Liberare’s first line! We’ve spent a lot of time gathering information from women of the community

about what kind of products they are missing in the current market, and I can’t wait to

spread the word, and hear the feedback, about our new products!

Maddie

Next up is our incredible designer, Maddie. Maddie joined the team a little over a year ago and we are so happy because she was just able to finally become full time! Maddie has amazing experience designing and is always coming up with new fun and sexy pieces. We love when Maddie's adorable dogs make an appearance in our design brainstorming sessions, they're definitely our honorary team members.

When did you start working at Liberare?

I joined Liberare in July 2020.

What made you want to join the Liberare team?

I’ve worked in the fashion industry for the past several years, but always felt disappointed by l the lack of inclusivity and social conscious. Liberare provided a great opportunity to work creatively in a way that benefits people.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is dreaming up new designs and seeing people get excited about style!

What is your favorite Liberare memory?

One of my favorite memories with Liberare was picking out the final designs for the launch collection. It felt like such a powerful and fun moment of “yea let’s do this!”

What is a fun fact about you?

I have two adorable (and very spoiled ) rescue dogs, Ruby & Cairo.

How do you hope Liberare makes our readers feel?

I hope Liberare makes our readers feel connected and seen. I think these days it’s so important to have a place online that allows you to connect with real people, share your stories, and have your experiences validated.

What are you most excited about this next chapter that we're going into?

I’m super excited to see people wearing the styles once we launch and creating some new designs!
