I might be 63 now, but I still remember when I was a naive pre-teen, desperately wishing for a larger bra size, and envying my more gifted friends. Then puberty hit, and suddenly I was a slave to my curves, struggling to find supportive bras for a DD, then a DDD cup.
Now I’m older, I have a brand-new set of problems. Not only do I need a bra that supports the girls – but I need one that’s actually comfortable, and easy to get on and off. That’s what got me on the hunt for the best front closure bra for bigger busts.
After all, I can’t be struggling with back clasps anymore – not with my shoulders.
If you’re in the same boat – don’t worry I’m here to help, with a list of my favorite “top picks”.
The 5 Best Front Closure Bras for Bigger Busts
Full disclosure, I’ve based this list on my own personal experience and preferences – so incredible comfort bras for older ladies have gotten a bit of extra attention. But I’ve tried to look for something that should appeal to all kinds of bustier women too – whether you’re looking for wire-free support, style, or even adaptive clothing.
So let’s dive straight in.
My 5th Pick: Glamorise Women’s MagicLift Bra
★★☆☆☆

I’m not the best at online shopping, I have trouble sorting through all those Google search results and figuring out which companies I can trust. So when I first started searching for the best front-closure bras for bigger busts, I just typed a quick search into Amazon.
The Glamorise Women’s MagicLift bra had over 4,000 reviews, and a pretty high score – and at a glance, it looked like it offered fantastic coverage – just what I wanted. As a bonus, it also has an extra-large back panel that’s supposed to improve your posture.
For the price, this is a pretty good pick in my book, although I did have to settle for a 38F instead of a DDD (because they didn’t have my size). The good news is there’s no wiring, and there’s a cushioned band to help lift and shape your bust. The front closure is pretty secure too – although a little fiddly for me and my arthritic hands.
What I really didn’t like though, is that the material isn’t very comfortable – it’s a little scratch, and not very breathable, which caused problems for my sensitive skin.
My 4th Pick: Playtex Women’s Front-Close Bra
★★★☆☆

Another Amazon special, the Playtex Women’s 18-hour bra is a brilliant option for those who like a lot of coverage. Unlike some of the other front-opening bras for seniors I’ve seen online, this option is actually quite pretty, with an attractive floral design.
It also has extra-wide straps (with cushioning), which are great for me, since I often struggle with shoulder pain. Unfortunately, those straps aren’t actually very adjustable, so if you have issues getting your bra to fit just right, this might not be the bra for you.
Again, this isn’t the most comfortable bra I’ve tried, but the material is a lot more breathable, and at least it came in my actual size. I also really liked the extra support on the sides – which helps to minimize any weird “bulging” underneath my arms.
I did find the front closure to be a little annoying here though – there are what feels like a million clips to fasten and unfasten every time you get dressed, which can be a bit of a headache.
My 3rd Pick: Fruit of the Loom Front Close Bra
★★★☆☆

I don’t really love sports bras, because I don’t feel like they offer the best support to us larger-busted ladies. But if you are looking for the best front closure bras for bigger busts, and you’re more worried about comfort than lift, this Fruit of the Loom bra is a very affordable option.
It’s not very pretty, but it is comfortable to wear, and breathable, with mesh shoulder straps. It also comes in a few different colors which is nice, and there are absolutely no wires.
I really like this bra for my lounge days, when I’m not really planning on going any further than my vegetable patch in the backyard. Unfortunately, I will note that it really doesn’t give you any lift at all – so if you’re worried about sagging, you should probably look elsewhere.
However, if you want a simple bra you can comfortably sleep in, this could be a good choice, especially if you’re on a tight budget.
My 2nd Pick: Liberare’s Everyday Easy-On Bra
★★★★☆
If you’re blessed with an even larger bust than me, this might actually end up being your favorite front-closing bra. A friend of mine who used to work at Macy’s introduced me to Liberare after I was complaining about pain following a rotator cuff injury.
She said they made some of the most comfortable, easy-to-wear bras she’d ever tried, and I can see why. The Everyday Easy-On bra is a god send. It comes with an amazing “magnetic” front closure, which basically uses magnets to guide the locking clips into place. So you’re not left tugging and struggling if you have painful joints and fingers.
There are even handy finger loops to help with putting your bra on. Plus, you get a 4-inch back adjuster, which is ideal if, like me you have days when you bloat a little bit.
What I really love most about this bra (aside from the fact that it comes in so many different sizes), is how soft it feels against my skin. It’s one of those bras I can really enjoy wearing all day (and night) without getting annoyed or irritated.
My 1st Pick: Liberare’s Smooth-On T-Shirt Bra
★★★★★
After trying my first Liberare bra, I was absolutely sold. I couldn’t imagine finding better front-closure bras for older women anywhere – particularly for women like me with arthritis and shoulder pain. When I discovered they also offered a bra specially designed for women with larger busts, I just had to get one, and I’m glad I did.
The Smooth-on t-shirt bra delivers all of the same benefits as the Everyday Easy-On bra I mentioned above. You still get the back adjuster, the magnetic front-closing clasp, and the ultra-soft material. But there are a few things that made this bra my absolute favorite.
First, you can adjust the back into a racer-back style – which I really love when I’m struggling with shoulder pain. Secondly, there are built-in, lightly lined cups for extra support. They really lift my bust (without wires) and give me shape – so they’re great for boosting confidence.
Plus, the extra-wide sides give me plenty of coverage. As a bonus, this bra looks fantastic under clothes (which I suppose is the reason behind the name). It really smooths everything down so you feel like you look perfect, whatever you’re wearing.
If you want the absolute best front-closure bras for bigger busts, definitely give this one a try.
The Best Front-Closure Bra for Bigger Busts
Honestly, I think both of the Liberare bras I tried are incredible for women with larger breasts – particularly if you’re looking for something comfortable and easy to wear. I even decided to grab myself one of Liberare’s Comfort Sculpt bras last month, to replace the bra I usually wore for sleeping. Trust me ladies, this bra redefines comfort.
But if you’re looking for an amazing plus-size option, I’d probably recommend trying the Smooth-on T-shirt bra first. Whatever you decide, I hope you find the bra that makes living with bigger breasts a little simpler. After all, let’s face it “a blessed bust” can sometimes feel like a curse!
