We asked a few women ages 40-70 about the bras they loved for back pain. Here are the honest reviews from our top commentors:

1. Linda, 48 years old (Austin, TX)

We asked Linda if she struggled with back pain despite an active lifestyle. "YES! y'know, I had bulging discs in my neck from bad posture, which was partly caused by bad bras (and partly by long hours hunched over the keyboardgrading papers).I used to love wearing sports bras because I was always on the go between teaching and touring colleges with my own two teens.

But as my back pain worsened, I couldn't manage the twisting needed to get those tight bras off. I'm a big busted lady so it's no easy feat!" she shares. "I came across this DD+ size front-opening full coverage bra and it was a game changer for my back pain! So easy to put on, and I don’t feel like I’m in a wrestling match just to get dressed in the morning. The support is fantastic, and I can finally enjoy my day without constant discomfort."

2. Karen, 70 years old (Rockville, MD)

"Let me give my insight as someone currently in physical therapy with some fairly severe damage who got great bra recommendations for the first time ever," wrote Karen, a retired retail manager.

"I thought at first that it wasn't a big deal since it's such a common pain," she admits. "But when my PT suggested this cotton bralette that I absolutely love. The band is adjustable, allowing me to find the perfect fit while my weight fluctuates with menopause and since it cinches at the front, I don't have to strain reaching around my back." She also mentioned she occassionally wears this Macy's bra but "the front clasp can be irritating and hard to fasten with it's tiny hooks so it's not great for all day wear. My husband usually has to help my but the high back is wonderful for supporting my back during PT sessions."

3. Martha, 65 years old (Cinnaminson, NJ)

"I’ve got pretty textbook fibromyalgia, so I was already acquainted with persistent pain," Martha says. She became used to wearing pullover bralettes when her diagnosis back in 2008 made wearing bras with wires too painful. "The Hanes bralettes worked fine but I never felt truly "dressed". I didn’t realize how much a good bra could impact my life until I tried the Everyday Easy On Bra," from Liberare," she explains. "With my back pain on top of all the complications that come with a Fibro diagnosis, I was done struggling to get dressed. Not only was the front-closing bra easy for me to get on without reaching behind her back, it was also wireless, and felt more like a classic bra style."
