This bra for mature women caught my eye on Amazon for a few reasons. First, it’s a front-closing bra (hooray!), secondly, it was described as “posture correcting” – which I figured would be good for me. I notice lately I’ve started to hunch a little. thanks to years of bending over my knitting.

It has a pretty smart design, with a crisscross X-back to pull your shoulders gently into alignment. If you’re someone who struggles with upper back pain, this might be a good bra for mature women like us. The front-close design is pretty sturdy, but a little fiddly. Plus, the overall appearance is nice.

But this bra loses points in three key areas (which is why I deducted three stars). First, the bra is reasonably supportive thanks to the structure (even without wires), but the fit is off. It’s not really “true to size”, so if you make a mistake when ordering, you’re not going to get support. For me, the cups were way too large.

Second, the front-closing clasps can sometimes pop open for no apparent reason, which is odd. Thirdly, the material isn’t great. It just feels cheap and flimsy – not exactly premium.

The Glamorise MagicLift bra is another option I found on Amazon, after being a little disappointed by the DotVol option I mentioned above. It had really good reviews, and a lot of good features, like a front-closing clasp, no wires, and plenty of coverage.

It also has an extra-wide back panel, so again I thought it might be good for my posture. There are a few positive things about this bra. It’s affordable, the cushioned band does help to give you a little extra lift if you’re worried about sagging, and the straps are very wide.

Now for the problems, there aren’t a lot of size options. If you’re looking for something like a 38DDD, you’re going to struggle here. Secondly, the front fastenings are a little fiddly. Although they were better at staying closed than the ones on the DotVol bra.

Finally, the material isn’t very comfortable. It felt kind of scratchy against my skin, and it didn’t breathe well – which was a problem on days when I was feeling flushed.

My 4^th Pick: Playtex Women’s Front-Close Bra

This Amazon bra edged just ahead of the Glamorise bra for me. I actually found it when I was reading an article on the best bras for women over 60. This isn’t the prettiest bra I’ve tried, but it does have a lot of good things to offer, outside of that.

The shoulder straps, back panel, and side sections are thick enough to make me feel like I have plenty of coverage. There are no wires, but the frame helps to subtly lift, and shape your breasts, without making you feel like you’re wearing a “push-up”.

The material was also a little more comfortable than I expected – but definitely not buttery soft. Unfortunately, the shoulder straps (with cushioning) aren’t very adjustable, which makes it hard to get the perfect fit. On top of that, the front clasp has about a thousand little openers.

That does give me a sense of security, but it also means that if I’m struggling with arthritis, it takes forever to get the bra on and off.

If you’re looking for the best elderly bra for sagging breasts and you don’t mind spending a little extra, Honey has a few great options. While it's not front-closure, I like the cross over bra!

Although this bra is wireless, it still lifts, supports and shapes your bust with built-in foam cups. 

I just did not like the thin straps or the thin band. For $69 I would need those 2 thins to be perfect.

The straps and back closure are adjustable, which is a nice extra, and the lightweight, microfiber material is soft to the touch, and actually great at keeping me cool. The downsides is there’s no front closure (which is a headache for me). Plus, it’s pretty pricey.

I also think the shoulder straps could be a little thicker – but that might just be a matter of personal preference.

This was almost my first pick and (it's frankly a bra I still wear everyday). It's almost #1 but not quite as I just find myself reaching towards the other one.

There are plenty of other stand-out features too. The material is ultra-soft and incredibly breathable. There are now wires, yet somehow the design helps to lift and sculpt your bust in all of the right ways. This bra felt like the first comfort bra for seniors that I’d tried that didn’t just feel nice, it made me feel great

Alongside the simple magnetic front-closure, an adjustable back-band, and buttery-soft fabric, you also get lightly lined cups that really help to give sagging breasts a boost. It’s not a crazy lift – but it’s enough to make you feel comfortable, and confident.

It also converts to a racerback style for extra support – which I really love on days when my shoulders are feeling sore. Plus, the wide sides make everything look streamlined and smooth under my clothes. This is a bra that doesn’t just fit – it flatters.
