The Best Bras for Women Over 60: My Review

My top picks (as a 38DD)

The quest for the perfect bra can feel never-ending – particularly when you reach a certain age. After I turned 65, my priorities definitely started to change. Trust me, when you’re shopping for the best bras for women over 60 – you need more than just something that looks good.

You need a bra that’s supportive, comfortable, and easy to get on and off.

That last factor is a big one for me. Like many of my more mature friends, I’ve found fiddling with traditional clasps, and straps to be much more difficult with limited movement in my shoulders, and the pesky onset of rheumatoid arthritis in my fingers.

After a lot of searching, I think I’ve finally stumbled onto the best bra for older women (maybe even the best bras plural – depending on what you’re looking for).

Here, I’ll share my top finds with you.

What Makes the Best Bras for Women Over 60?

After a lot of conversations with my close friends – I noticed something.

One of the main reasons ladies struggle to find the right bra – is we don’t know what we need.

We assume we’ll continue to shop for all the same things as we get older – prioritizing a good price, a decent design, and a good level of support. Obviously, those things still matter when you hit your sixties (the last one is particularly crucial for me, with my size 36DD bust) – but other things grow more important too.

Here’s what really counts for me these days:

  • ·       An Easy Front-Opening Clasp: I just don’t have the dexterity in my fingers I’d need to fiddle with complicated clasps anymore. Plus, I’ve suffered from more than enough rotator cuff injuries to know how difficult it is to deal with back clasps. A front-closing bra makes a world of difference when you want to make life easier.
  •          Wireless: Honestly, I don’t have the best posture – and a lot of my friends don’t either. Underwires always dig into my rib cage, and create a horrible pinching sensation. So, wire-free bras that still offer a decent level of lift are the best bet. Bonus points if your bra also comes with wide straps for extra support.
  •          Material: Our skin becomes more sensitive as we get older. I need bras that are breathable, super soft, and don’t rub and chafe with annoying seams. The best bra for mature women should make it easy to forget you’re wearing it.
  •         Adjustability: My weight fluctuates – it’s not just an age issue, medication and various other factors can make it feel like I need a completely different bra from one day to the next. Easily adjustable straps, and back adjusters are a huge bonus.

The Best Bras for Women Over 60: My Top Picks

I tried quite a few bras on the hunt for something actually suitable for women like me – including options from well-known lingerie brands (and high-rated options on Amazon).

For a while, it seemed like nothing would check all of the boxes I had. Some companies offered front opening bras for seniors – but they offered no support. Others gave you plenty of support, but lacked adjustability or comfort. Finally, I found a real winner – promoted by Oprah Daily.

They ranked Liberare’s Everyday Easy-On Bra as one of the best bras for mature women – and I just had to try it out for myself.

The Ultimate Bra for Women Over 60: Liberare Everyday Easy-On Bra

best bra for women over 60

I’m not usually the kind of person who raves about products online, or prioritizes one brand over another – but Liberare changed my world.

The Everyday Easy-On Bra is by far one of the best bras for women over 60 – and here’s why: it combines comfort, style and support with a revolutionary open-front clasp.

Honestly, at first – I wasn’t totally sold. I was hoping for a slightly larger range of color and size options – but I’m glad I gave this bra a try.

The front fasteners are really incredible. You don’t just get a front closure; you get a magnetic system that automatically glides together – don’t all the hard work for you without the pinching. If you struggle with finger dexterity – like me – this bra is a major upgrade.

There are even handy loops you can push your fingers through for a little extra help.

On top of that, Liberare’s bra is wireless (no more rib cage bruises), and it’s made with a brilliant, lightweight breathable material that just feels incredible. You even get a handy back adjuster (for weight fluctuations), and shoulder straps that adjust in the front.

All that – and there’s a decent amount of lift things to the carefully structured seams that keep the ladies perfectly in place all day long. I felt supported, and confident, day after day.

The Ideal Bra For Everyday Comfort: Liberare Comfort Sculpt Seamless

over 60 bra

You might be wondering why I kept shopping if I’d already found the best bra for women over 60. But variety is the spice of life! I like to have a few different options to turn to for different situations.

So, after the Everyday Easy-On Bra exceeded my expectations, I decided to check out a few extras – like the Liberare Comfort Sculpt Seamless bra.

This option would have been neck-and-neck with my first pick if it was just a tiny bit more supportive. But if you’re worried less about dealing with sagging, and more about finding a bra that you can wear all day (and night), without issues – it’s a great pick.

The ultra-soft seamless knit fabric contours perfectly with your curves, and keeps everything looking smooth and seamless under your clothes. Plus, I’m a big fan of the extra-wide straps, which help distribute weight over my shoulders when I’m suffering with aching joints.

Just like the Everyday bra, this option has a front-closure, making it super easy to put on (and take off). There are also no pesky seams – making it great for sensitive skin. This is the bra I always pick when I’m just looking for a simple, comfort-focused bra that makes me feel great.

My Favorite Bra for Bigger Busts: The Smooth-On T-Shirt Bra

best bra for older women

I’d argue that the Liberare Everyday Easy-on bra is great for larger busts – I had no trouble getting it in my size – but if you’re particularly worried about full-figure support, try the Smooth-On T-shirt bra. Just like Liberare’s other bras for women over 60 – this is a front-closing bra, with no wires, no annoying seams, and no annoying clasps.

Personally, I just use this bra as an alternative to the Everyday Easy-On option when it’s in the washer – but many of my friends with larger breasts absolutely love this product.

It was designed for larger busts, with lightly lined cups, and large side wings for extra support. It even gives you a bit of a lift – which is great if you’re worried about sagging.

You also get shoulder straps that adjust at the front. Plus, there’s an optional hook for converting the straps into a “racerback style” – so it’s fantastic for specific outfits.

Honestly, this bra has it all – it’s so flattering, and comfortable. If I wore a larger bra size, I’d probably have two or three of these in my closet.

Bonus Pick: The Liberare Wrap Bralette

This last recommendation is a bit of an unusual choice for me. I’m not much of a “bralette fan” in general – but I did want to highlight the Wrap Bralette for a few reasons.

Although this bra doesn’t offer quite as much support as my other three favorite bras for women over 60, it’s an incredibly comfortable option. I usually wear it around the house, when I’m just relaxing, or dealing with a few chores in the garden.

It’s another front-closure bra. It doesn’t use magnetics (like some of Liberare’s other options), but it’s still very easy to put on and take off – even with my fingers.

The material is also super soft and breathable. I feel great wearing this bra particularly when I just need a little bit of support – particularly on a rough pain day.

Another big bonus of this bra is it looks gorgeous. It really makes me feel pretty – which means a lot when you get to my age.

The Best Bras for Women Over 60

As you step into your golden years, I really can’t stress how important it is to have a few bras you can really rely on to make you look and feel great.

I know it’s easy to tell yourself “anything will do” – but honestly, poorly-fitting, uncomfortable, or awkward bras just aren’t worth the hassle. You deserve bras that make your comfort a priority – and that’s exactly what Liberare’s products have to offer.

If you’re tired of dealing with awkward back closures, annoying materials or wires, or bras that just don’t offer the right support – I can’t recommend Liberare’s bras enough.

Try out the Everyday Easy-On bra (my top pick), and I’m sure you’ll be stocking up on additional options in no time.
